Connect to WebDAV Server as a Windows Drive
What is WebDAV?
WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is an extension of the HTTP protocol for managing files on remote servers. Because it operates over standard HTTP/HTTPS ports, it passes easily through firewalls and proxies.
WebDAV via Rebex Drive
Rebex Drive maps a WebDAV server directly as a network drive in Windows Explorer. No dedicated client or web browser is needed — any application that can open files from a drive letter works with your remote WebDAV storage out of the box.
Server Compatibility
Rebex Drive connects to a wide range of WebDAV servers, including:
- Nextcloud and ownCloud
- Apache and Nginx with WebDAV module
- NAS devices (Synology, QNAP, and others)
Connection Features
- HTTP and HTTPS
- Basic and Digest authentication
- Support for self-signed certificates
Typical Use Cases
- Working with files on Nextcloud or ownCloud without the web interface
- Accessing a NAS or internal storage over HTTP
